Jeff, Nope! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Even the Red luxeons aren't truely red. They still are low into the visable spectrum. You need a high wavelength red to keep from being blinded, and you certainly don't need 140lumens of it!! What is your purpose for the light? If you don't use any optics it may be perfect for medium range navagation. Perhaps a McFlood reflector?
I have a 1W R/O S-binned in a mag reflector. You only want to fire this up at trees and far away objects at night. And if you shine it at someone and they close their eyes, it won't help it goes right through eye lids!!!!
Animals don't seem to mind the light at all though. they barely act like it's there.
