I'd like to buy one of these 2. Unfortunately I can't afford both. Of the people that have used both the Nitecore d10 and Defender Infinity what are people's thoughts on them. Is there one you consistently go for over the other and why?

I especially like the low output levels for use last thing at night when I turn the lights off, for reading maps in the car and generally carrying around for walks at night when I need a bit more light than my keychain Fenix L0d and don't need to be carrying a heavier flashlight in my pocket.

From what I can gather the D10 has the advantages of being a cool little system and it won't snag in my pockets, whilst the Defender Infinity can be locked out and has anti-roll.

The D10 can also be locked out and your can get a clip for it (will be available soon), to prevent rolling.

I prefer the D10/EX10 user interface over the NDI, but like some other lights even better.

I used booth and like the NDIs interface better. You can only acces one light level thru the switch, i thing its more straight forward.
I dont like the crenelation on the NDI so i grinded them of :twothumbs

I've had them both and sold the NDI after I got the D10 (and EX10).

I'm thinking of getting a half dozen more D10's; two more to keep for myself and four of them to be given as gifts at Christmas.
The D10 and EX10 are among the very few lights that I want to own more than one. The form factor and UI are that good.

Having owned and used both, to me, there's no comparison. D10 over the NDI.

I have both and prefer the NDI because you can choose the level before switching it on which you can't do with D10/EX10. Also the lockout feature is just a quarter turn for NDI and several turns with D10 because with just one turn you go into momentary mode.

To summarize my opinion: in case I lost my D10 or EX10 I would not buy another one while I would certainly replace my NDI. :)

I have both and I like both.

For me, the D10 is very useful when I need varying amounts of light quickly.

I treat the NDI as a 2 level light. I set the custom level to what I anticipate I will need and just switch between that and high mode.

Depending upon what I am doing, I sometimes carry both lights.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've just put in an order for a d10 and will wiat by my letterbox until it arrives!

The fact that it can be locked out and I can stop it rolling by putting on a small lanyard means that it should do everything I need in a nice package with a few cool features.

Just got my d10 in the post. It's brilliant! I think I'll mainly use it as a 2 level light.

HJK, I can't figure out how to lock it out but it needs a fair push of the piston to activate and the top of the piston is kinda recessed so it shouldn't activate accidently in my pocket.

Love it!

As long as it is in momentary, it won't be a problem in your pocket, sure it will get bumped now and then and be on for the fraction of a second its bumped, but then it will release when your pocket shifts, usually instantly. As long as it is kept in momentary pocketed, you have nothing to worry about in regards to accidental activation
