Nitecore Defender lumens rating

on 4sevens website the specs say it has 130 lumens but the graphs of the different batteries show a peak of around 190 lumens, is this a mistake or is this the emitter lumens vs lumens out the front thing, i was hoping that this would be brighter than my EX10:thinking:

I can't speak to the Defender, but I have the EX10 and the NC Extreme. The Extreme is a noticable step up in brightness. Hotspot and spill angular size seem comparable, just a brightness difference. Although I EDC the EX10, I like the Extreme better. I keep the 'programmed' output towards the low end and thus have a simple, almost instant 2 stage light via a twist of the head versus the EX10 UI. It does take a couple seconds for the mode to switch though. Both run fine off AW RCR's which is a big plus.

It's 130 OTF, or 190ish emitter. NiteCore started rating both after the first run of NDI's in December.

I have the NDI and D10, and to me the output is the same.

cool thanks all, i recently lost my 2 week old Extreme and i really wanted a new one but i thought ill try out the defender this and wait a few weeks to get another extreme, i really liked that torch...

They do, according to 4sevens. Same engine, same emitter, same reflector.

NO. You are a flashaholic. You should replace the Extreme and get a D10 .
