Hi all. I've had my mt26 a week now & overall I'm very pleased with it. However tonight when showing it to a friend I noticed that the full turbo 800lu didn't work. I thought maybe there wasn't enough life left in the battery to give it full power, but then I noticed that medium & low setting didn't work either but high did, & the flashing modes, so bang went that theory. Anyway I put in 2 new cr123 energizers to replace the sysmax originals and it works fine. It's probably had about 10-12 hours use with 98% of that on low 25lu. What I cant understand is if the batteries where too low, how come the high setting worked when the low didn't? Can anybody help and explain to a novice torch user? Cheers.😕

Greetings to Wales from Alaska.

The Nitecore MT26 has a voltage regulator circuit which will give you the brightest light available for a given voltage remaining in the battery. This is a steep curve, and will step down through the available light settings until zero voltage remains. Its a nice feature which tells you how much battery life is left.

Always carry a spare battery because it will fail just when your night operation gets "dodgey".

Just recently when my 18650 dropped down to below workable levels my MT26 did the same thing, it defaulted to the high mode. So this would seem to be the normal way it operates. Put in another battery and all is well!

Still a torch that I really enjoy! By far the brightest light to date for me. My only suggestion would be to place the strobe and SOS with the turbo mode so that you only have to cycle through the high, medium and low which are used more often.

But practically I only use the low and turbo most often which only requires the slightest twist of the head. And the heat dissipating fins on the head are way cool! Sweet!

Thanks to you all for the helpfull comments. I will definetily be getting a 18650 & charger soon, makes economic sence if nothing else.
