Nitecore replaces the previous MT2C now out of production (XP-G2 R5 and 390 lumens) with a more performing and updated version that uses the new NiteLab UHi 20 LED. The word "Pro" is added to the name to indicate that inside we find the new UHi series LED born with the collaboration between NiteLab and Nitecore.
MT2C Pro is a lightweight EDC flashlight (64g), which has a single switch at the tail to manage 2 light levels (Low and High).
MT2C Pro has a maximum output of 1800 lumens with a maximum throw of 520 meters and is sold with a rechargeable lithium battery in 18650 format, 3600mAh with a maximum autonomy of 28 hours. MT2C Pro is a versatile flashlight that can also be powered by two CR123/RCR123 batteries.
It is certified IP68 (2 meters submersible) and has shock resistance up to 2 meters.
Its compact size and features make it an ideal companion for many uses such as outdoor activities, camping, night walks, hiking and trekking, emergency, fishing and more.

Warranty Service
The defective product can be exchanged for a replacement through a local distributor/dealer within 15 days of purchase. After that, all defective/malfunctioning NITECORE® products can be repaired free of charge within 60 months from the date of purchase. Beyond 60 months, a limited warranty applies, covering the cost of labor and maintenance, but not the cost of accessories or spare parts.
1Nitecore MT2C Pro arrives in a small Black/Yellow cardboard box with writings that report the main features that distinguish it. Inside the package we find, in addition to the Nitecore MT2C Pro with the Clip installed and with the Nitecore NL1836R lithium battery inside, the USB-C charging cable, the lanyard, spare O-ring, manual and warranty.
The Nitecore MT2C Pro is constructed from aluminum alloy with a military-grade HA III hard anodized finish. The body design is similar to Nitecore's recent products, featuring a thick texture that gives the MT2C Pro a noticeable grip to maintain a secure hold even with sweaty, wet hands or when wearing gloves.
The total length is 117.5mm with a weight, with battery and Clip, of 115g. Nitecore MT2C Pro is sold with the Clip already installed (but detachable), held by three removable screws, longer than half of the new EDC. Nitecore MT2C Pro fits well in a pocket or jeans given its small size and weight. Thanks to the tail design Nitecore MT2C Pro can be placed upright (candle-style).
**The rechargeable lithium-ion battery NL1836R, found in the sales package, is a Nitecore in 18650 format with 3600mAh (NL1836R) with a continuous discharge current of 6A, equipped with a USB-C charging port. With this battery the maximum autonomy reaches 28 hours. Nitecore MT2C Pro can also be powered by other batteries in 18650 format, both protected and unprotected, or by 2 CR123/RCR123 batteries.
The full charge time, measured in my tests, is approximately 4h10min. (Charging via 5V/1A adapter). During the charging process, the red charging indicator lights up constantly. When the battery is fully charged, the charging indicator turns solid green.
At the two poles, for contact with the battery, we find a plated button on the positive and a spring on the negative. Nitecore MT2C Pro has electronic protection against reverse polarity and waterproof and dustproof classification according to IP68.
On the head of the Nitecore MT2C Pro we find a smooth bezel and optical lens with anti-scratch coating on both sides with "PDOT" technology. The LED used is a NiteLab UHi 20 with a maximum power of 1,800 lumens.
The Nitecore MT2C has a single switch at the tail. The rubber button is a decent size with a perceptible click and a decent resistance to pressure. At the tail we also find the space to insert the supplied lanyard.
USER INTERFACE (UI)
The Nitecore MT2C Pro has a simple user interface with only two light levels that can be activated via the switch at the tail. Personally, I would have appreciated an intermediate level of 500 or 600 lumens, in addition to the two available, for better management of the light output.

Instructions for Use
Momentary Tactical Illumination
For HIGH (default): When the light is off, press and hold the power button halfway to momentarily access HIGH. Release it to turn it off.
For LOW: Turn off HIGH, then press and hold the power button halfway within 2 seconds to momentarily enter LOW. Release to turn off.
Note: If the light is off for more than 2 seconds, pressing and holding the power button again will automatically return to HIGH.
Turning On and Off
Turning On:
For HIGH (Default): When the light is off, press the power button all the way until you hear a click to enter HIGH.
For LOW: Turn off HIGH, then press the power button all the way again within 2 seconds to enter LOW. Turning Off: When the light is on, press the power button all the way until you hear a click to turn it off.
Note: If the light is off for more than 2 seconds, pressing the power button all the way again will automatically return to HIGH.
ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation)
The built-in ATR technology adjusts the MT2A Pro's output based on working conditions and the surrounding environment to maintain optimal performance.
BEAM and RUNTIME
The beam is clean without artifacts with a white color with a slight green cast (corona). The illumination angle is not wide with peripheral illumination starting after about 1 meter.
From tests done with the OPPLE Light Master Pro, at about one meter away from the sensor, the value of the CCT color temperature and the color rendering Ra, in the High level (1800 lumens), are respectively 5712 for the CCT and 62.8 for the Ra. The calculated Duv is equal to 0.0134. No PWM visible to the naked eye.
Nitecore MT2C Pro with the NiteLab Uhi 20 LED, despite its small size, has a powerful beam with a very bright hotspot and spill. The candela values (lux/1 meter), found by me with measurements at 3 and 5 meters are however lower than those "in the table".

The Runtimes were done indoors at a temperature of about 22°C, using the supplied battery (a 3600mAh 18650) fully charged and two VARTA CR123A batteries (3V).
I would like to point out that the values expressed in the graphs should be considered primarily as a reference because they were made with means and conditions different from those used in the laboratory.
With the High level, 1800 lumens, there is a sudden drop in brightness after 30 seconds from start-up. Subsequently, there is a slow decrease for over 17 minutes before the light intensity stabilizes at about a third of the initial one for over two hours before another drop that brings the brightness to the low level of 50 lumens. Nitecore MT2C Pro turned off after over 5 hours from start-up.
Another test was done by powering the MT2C Pro with two RC123A primary batteries (VARTA, 3.32V).
With these batteries the high brightness is 800 lumens at start-up. Immediately after switching on there is a small increase in brightness for about 2min30sec before a sharp drop for over five minutes after starting. At this point the brightness stabilizes for almost two hours before decreasing due to the exhaustion of the two batteries that power it.

CONCLUSIONS
Nitecore MT2C Pro is a small EDC torch but with a surprising beam; powerful with a very bright Spot and Spill.
Excellent construction as always and in general no problems encountered. The package is complete with a rechargeable battery in 18650 format that allows the MT2C Pro to have a decent autonomy in the high level of 1800 lumens.
The new Nitecore can also be powered by other non-proprietary batteries, something always appreciated by everyone.
One note concerns the user interface with only two light levels. An additional level of 500 or 600 lumens, in addition to the two available, would have brought the benefit of better usability of the same.
