Received TS10SG

Firmware is 714-2023-07-29, factory Defaults:

Arrived in Advanced Smooth ramping w Red Aux on High. Post Off Voltage Display enabled, no Smooth Steps.

I did a factory reset and the Aux changed to Blue on Low, in Voltage Display mode, still in Advanced Mode. (iow, someone had changed the Aux to Red High before shipping)

Battery check default uses Aux on Voltage Display Color. I changed it to Red.

There seemed to be no lube on O ring and threads, I added some Nyogel 760G, which made it easier to screw the light shut over the O ring.

7 Stepped modes in Advanced, 5 stepped modes in Simple.

Battery at 3.9V

Simple Ceilings are 750 lumens (130/150), Floors are 1 lumen

Advanced Ceiling in Stepped mode is 750 lumens (130/150), Turbo is 1000 lumens, Stepped floor is 1 lumen.

Advanced ceiling in Smooth ramping is 1000 lumens (150/150), Turbo is 1000 lumens. Floor is <0.01 lumens

(disclaimer, my lumen meter is homebrew and reads low, especially at max output, plus the output tests were done w the battery as received, not fully charged)

I think its a great little thrower, waiting for dark to do a bit more testing.

Compared to my MAO TS10 V1 modded by MasterNate to sw45k:

imo the little Tir works very well for its intended purpose and the little pearls on the Fresnel lens eliminates any rings in the perimeter.

Yes it has flashing pads:

I reflashed to a newer version of Anduril with Smooth Steps, and two digit voltage check. It is a custom hex thanks to u/SiteRelEnby with momentary deleted from Advanced and blinkies deleted from Simple mode. No issues reflashing.

Im thrilled with the TS10SG, its a very fun option.

BIG Thanks to Wurkkos for picking my name (along with 7 other people) in a random drawing from BLF.

And now that it is getting dark, here are some beamshots outdoors, the bench is 50 feet away, both lights are set to 250 lumens:

And a wall shot from 4' away, both lights still at 250 lumens:

I was entertaining myself with the TS10SG Aux lights and made a video about battery voltage check features:

the video wont play for me on CPF, but if I use the watch on youtube link it works

I think the TS10SG Tir makes some really fun Aux patterns ;-)
(Im easily amused.. LOL!)

I bought a second TS10SG and changed the LED to High CRI 4000K XPP

night shots

The light on the right,, TS10SG w XPP 4000K High CRI, seems to throw better (more lux on target) than the stock TS10SG Low CRI on left

I would say the TS10SG w XPP 4000K (on right) illuminates the bench better than the SFT25 (on left), And the XPP is High CRI, and shows the wall with richer color

any hiccups
no
do you ask because you want to do a similar mod?

This light was easier to open than the first one, there was much less glue under the bezel.

A few tips I can share, is to set the hotplate to 250C instead of 200C. And I recommend using some shrink tubing to guide the wires back thru the holes in the mcpcb. It helps to have magnification to see the tiny wires.

There are photos in this album showing the modding sequence, tools, and supplies I used for the first TS10SG I swapped to sw45k.

Im happy to share more info if you have questions after looking through the pics.

There are pros and cons to the choice of LED, i was really happy w the Tint of the sw45k, its my favorite LED.

On this latest mod, Im really happy with the added Throw of the XPP.

thanks for the kind words, Im definitely happier with the High CRI LED swap, and the XPP does have great throw for outdoors

otoh the stock LED can sustain higher output, about 550 lumens, without overheating. The High CRI sustainable output, that does not trigger thermal step down, is more like 200 lumens. Same output as a High CRI HDS.
that stock LED is hideous
I feel the same way, as far as my close range EDC use, Low CRI and green tint are a no go.

otoh, I was suprised how well it works outdoors. When Im just looking at earth tones and vegetation, beyond close range, I barely notice the green tint and Low CRI

It helped me understand how some people seem to be fine with throwy Low CRI lights..

Its good to have choices ;-)

Happy Holidays

I love my 3 original TS10's! I just saw this thread and ordered a Blue SG. Very excited to see it in action. I'm definitely a "throw" guy. I don't "need" throw, I just like it. But does this mean I have to carry one original and the new SG with me at all times?

I really like the battery SOC color indication just after shut-off and the ability to set the Aux leds to low cyan when off. But it takes me awhile to remember how to set this up, even with the instruction chart. Oh, and the push-and-hold feature to turn the light on at it's lowest level.

I agree the Voltge Color Aux can be a very useful feature, though I usually use Red on my nightstand. It took me a long time to wrap my head around all the options I could change.

This marked up chart helps me keep track of things I change...

here is a blank you might find useful:

Light not here yet. Maybe due to holidays? Would the invoice be from Wurkkos or do they have a connection with vapecell technologies. I don't remember ordering anything from Vapecell and am wondering if the Vapecell invoice/receipt I have for $26.58 might be the light? Light and 1 battery.

copper 3000K version of the TS10
yes.. I bought one so I could check the Tint.. I received it about 10 days ago. The Copper version is the only one that offers a 3000K LED option.

The copper host is very nicely polished and smooth. Although it weighs almost double what an Aluminum TS10 does.. not very practical for my personal pocket carry, but a very handsome desk and nightstand light.

I was disappointed by the color of the beam (greenish yellow), but Im extremely picky. I was unable to capture the tint I object to, in a photo.. The beam color still works well in the dark of night, when not comparing to other light sources.

It ships with new 2024 firmware that I feel is excellent. Turbo has been reduced by 50%, (about 500 lumens on my metter), thereby eliminating problems with burned LEDs, and the light does not get too hot to touch. It also has what I consider very good ceilings of about 300 lumens.

imo the default firmware settings are ready to use out of the box, without requiring any changes to disable Turbo, nor to lower the ceilings.

fwiw, the MAO white ceramic version, also ships with the new 2024 firmware...

Im a big fan of the MAO finish.. Although it arrives with a chalky surface finish that I polish down to a smoother underlayer. (I just cant seem to resist making some sort of changes to most of my lights.. lol)

This is my best effort to show the greenish yellow Tint of the 3000K LEDs, that my eyes perceive during the day, when my brain is adapted sunlight:

Since I dont care for that color, I do not recommend the 3000K option, unless you are OK with the Tint.
