"non leaking" D Cell batteries?

Cheapest way to get D Cell batteries that won't tend to leak? (I have some flashlights I leave in the cars, but during the winter (can get cold here in PA) I don't want the temp diff. to cause regular Alkaline batteries to leak).

I have a couple of spare single AA flashlights that I keep in the glove box and use lithium batteries (energizer ultimate), but want the larger, heavier, easier to find 2x D Cell flashlights in the door pouch or arm-rest.

Thanks!

You could try NiMH batteries (either D cells, or eneloop AA's with an adapter). The chemistry is different and shouldn't leak, but temperature extremes like you mention are hard on batteries. Lithium primaries probably are best for that situation in general, but eneloop (low self discharge type) NiMH isn't too bad....

I have plenty of Duraloops ( I learned a lot from on here ), have a couple of good chargers (Maha and LaCrosse along with some of the better 'portables'). The Lithium in the D shell sounds interesting. I thought about NiMH D's but they seem fairly expensive.

Thanks for the suggestions..
