In a previous thread the prefered method of bonding a tritium vial to a light was to use Norland 61. Norland makes about 15 optical adhesives. Is this the best for this use?

This comes in 2 packaging formats:
1) luer lok pneumatic dispensing syringe
2) manual syringe with permanent tip
Anyone familiar with these dispensers and which would be the prefered one to get?

:thanks::D

Don uses Norland 61, so I think that it's pretty safe to say that this is the way to go. I am going to order some from Norland later on today or tomorrow and I am probably going to go with the manual syringe. If I don't like the syringe, I can go to Walgreen's and buy some there.

On a different note, I tried using some two part epoxy that I bought at Hobby Lobby and I wasn't very impressed by it. It was way too thick for what I needed it for and it took way too long to cure.

Are you going to order from Norland or do you have another source?

I took the info off of the Norland website. I only thought that they came in 1 oz. containers but the smaller sizes seemed more convenient. This stuff has a 4 month self life so probably ordering from the source is the way to go.

For all I know, the 61 is not the optimal material but I do know it works and the spec sheet seemed in line with the application. :shrug: I bought the squeeze botlles and transfer it into some hypo's with metal needles that I have ground the point off of. I have product now well past its expiration date and it does seem to be getting thicker on me; not so easy to flow as originally but it still self levels and does the job.

TYVM :D

Like most things on the forum, I remembered seeing the for sale listing ... somewhere. It in now safely bookmarked (until my PC crashes again).
