I would really appreciate your recommendations in selecting a light to help me with decoy set up in the dark. I have got several nice lights from Surefire to Olight to Fenix to my latest McGizmo Haiku 2 XMl (unbelievable) but i need Flood and maybe 100 yd throw...something that will light up the whole spread and enough of the surrounding area to see how it looks before sunrise. I was reading about the Polarian Abyss, but that may be cumbersome or over kill. I must say though, i would prefer too much rather than almost enough. This light will be used a lot Dec. to Jan. but very little the rest of the year. Please give me some options to help me come up with a good choice.

Thanks

Hello Nickt3,
I mainly know about SureFire stuff, what SF lights do you have? The reason that I ask is that the Moddoo XP-G triple (which is a drop-in upgrade for the SureFire P/C/Z series) might be very close to what you're looking for. Massive output with a relatively large spot, I find mine to be unsurpassed for various tasks outside, it's a good compromise betwee throw and spill IMO.

I'm sure others will drop by but if it was me I'd be looking into various SureFire upgrades. Hope this helps,

Maybe Malkoff Wildcat, if you prefer a "turnkey" solution ... ?

Or JETBeam RRT-3 (triple XM-L version), perhaps.

I have a SF Digital Ultra 2, Aviator, and a smaller (30 lumen maybe). I do not know anything about mods so if anything will work with what I have, I will give it a try. I have a Fenix TK 35 which is the brightest I have, but I would prefer more...old eyes you, know.

Arch...I am intrigued by the Malkoff, but definitely would want a complete light or a good list of what components to purchase if it has to be purchased separately. I think whatever I get, it would need to be 1000 + lumens, yet fairly compact.

Thanks for the comments

Arch

Just checked out J B rr3..you may have just nailed it. Still searching for beamshots, but the power and size look good

Thank-you a lot

Glad to help 🙂

I have the (older) JB RRT-3 with the single SST-50, and it is a very nice light. The triple XM-L version will have more output & (a lot) more flood....

Just be mindful of battery safety in large powerful multi-cell torches, such as these. And especially so, in a light that may only see very intermittent or occasional use.

Wow. The Electrolumen looks fantastic. I have the TK 35 and it just blows it away..still a great light though. On top of that I ordered the Jetbeam rrt 3 XML today. I think it will be great.. Heck I have not met many modern lights I did not like. Guess I will need to up my contents coverage as I start looking for the Electrolumen

Thanks for the help, guys!
