I'm not sure as to the legality of downloading no longer sold products though... Maybe it still counts as piracy. In that case, I would just go with linux.

It's not legal; the software is still protected by copyright-- so, yes, it does count as piracy.

Camino (cabrinobrowser.org) has a version for 10.4 and higher, and version 1.6 is for 10.3.9. Other versions available, but may not work so great for the jazziest websites.

Camino is so damn slow though... Opera, despite my qualms with the UI, is a much faster browser, especially on older computers.
