older lights

I am looking at an older penlight circa 1920 or so. I was wondering what type of batteries would be required to make it work and if they would still be available.

Does anyone have any old lights and can share your experiences with me.

he has written a book on old flashlights so may be able to help more anbd who knows- the light you`ve got your eye on may be featured on that site too?.
I expect the batteries are common types still avaliable today- AA, C and D cells have been around for a very long time.
