S15 Baton is a new light from Olight that continues the success of the S10 Baton which built up alot of confidence among customers around the world. Olight S15 is an EDC-class flashlight which means everyday carry and in particular that it's so small that you can carry it around without thinking about its size.
This light is powered by a single AA alkaline battery which can easily be found in general stores.
It also works on NIMH and LI-ION in AA size.
The flashlight has a nice and strong black anodized surface and tail stand, perfect for when the electricity goes out at the summerhouse!
This light also comes with a magnet in the tail cap which means that you can attach it to the engine hood when you get an engine failure on a dark road – nice work Olight!
S15 is equipped with the latest XM-L2 diod from Cree which in this light puts out 280 lumens for about 45 minutes, impressive considering the size of this small light cannon. You will find more about the runtimes in the spec sheet.
To change the output of the light you hold down the button and it cycles through the outputs, double push it and you get strobe.
To reach the lockout mode you hold the button down and keep it down for more than 1 second and the lights locks, to get out of lockout mode just hold the button again until you see light. The light also got memory and remembers the last used output.
In the package you get extra O-rings, wrist strap, belt clip, manual and a cleaver battery extender that gives the opportunity to run this light on two double A batteries for extra runtime. Attach the belt clip on a cap and voila you get a head lamp.
Outdoor shots - 80 yards
Light turned off - 1,3sec, f4.5, ISO200
High 280 lumens - 1,3sec, f4.5, ISO200
Summary
As you can see at the night shots this light easily makes it out to the house at 80 yards, you can even recognize details as the boat around the focused spot. The only negative I can say about this light is that the beam color still is abit yellow but hardly noticeable.
This light has become one of my personal favorites due to its size and feature to run on Alkaline AA batteries.
