i miss read the details and bought a nitecore e4k . it uses a longer then normal 21700 cell. do any if you know any cheap replament batterys that will work in it

I ran into this just yesterday by chance when browsing the Orbtronic website:

Please double check if your flashlight and/or charger is compatible with Protected 21700 Button top battery.
Not Compatible with:

  • Nitecore E4K (Unfortunately, You will have to use proprietary 21700 battery from Nitecore, designed and manufactured for this flashlight only)
  • OLIGHT Warrior X Pro (Unfortunately, You will have to use proprietary 21700 battery from Olight, manufactured and designed for this flashlight only)

It's down towards the bottom of this page: https://www.orbtronic.com/protected-21700-li-ion-5000mah

Maybe somebody around here has managed to finangle a solution though.

Take one of your 50E cells, put a solder blob* on the positive end & a powerful magnet on the negative.
==== that would give you the extra length.

*with fine sandpaper, 'key' the positive end so the solder will anchor to it.

That's about the cheapest solution you can do.

ty everyone last night i did solder a blob on end of cell its working but i stink at soldering

I just use a harbor freight rare earth magnet on the positive end of the cell. Use fenix and klarus USB charging 18650 cells with the battery adapter sleeve for the extra length for 18650 cells. Turbo will go as high as the cells can handle if they aren't rated for 15 amps. I probably get closer to 1800 lumens from an 8 amp rated cell. Unprotected cells scavenged from a bad Milwaukee 9 amp 18 volt battery get the full 4400 lumens with a magnet on the positive end (15 amp rated). Using 2 123a cells, you made need a magnet on the top of the upper battery. I'm still waiting for my MH10 v2 to ship from Black Friday so I can charge cheaper cells and share them between that and my E4K. Just found out the Klarus 5000 mAh 15 amp rated 21700 cell I bought with my order is now backordered and won't ship with the rest of the order.

It may be worth noting that loose conductive material (like magnets) can cause a short, and there are a variety of ways to reduce that risk.

My favorite modder supplied a 40T cell with a spring soldered onto the positive end of the cell. It works great in my E4K. VC8 and S4 chargers fit the extra extra long protected usb 21700 cells.
