Hey all, sorry not to contact you in such a long time. We have been outrageously busy and have had some excursions out here that require our complete focus and time. Please forgive me, but I can not go into details.

Everyone is doing great and our spirits are up, thank you.

I hope you all have seen the e-mails sent in regards to those flashlights donated to this unit. I know of several people here who sent out "thank you letters" in their most sincere language...I hope it gets to all of you.

"Also, please relay to the gentleman "I forgot his name at this time" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif who donated the NITE TRACKER spotlight... That his gift was handed over to an Army guard unit." I was unable to take photos for security reasons, but they were greatly appreciative of the kind gesture.

I hope all is well back at home and ..."HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!"

-Nick

We understand about "busy". We also understand that security concerns also limit what you can communicate.

THANK YOU for taking the time to assure us of the general well being of our adopted squadreon.

Yes, good to hear from Nick. I am scared to turn on the TV anymore for all the bad news from that side of the globe.
Wow. Take care over there. Watch for the next box.

In preparing the next box for Iraq with some new and different lights not yet sent, I would like to say a special thanks to Nick at CountyComm for his awesome donation. Thanks Nick!!! Christmas over again sort of.

I have no idea what your donation was, but if Kevin said it is "awesome", then I will add my most sincere thanks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

I hope to have several modified Mag lites ready to donate (Mag 3D with LEDs and sputtered reflectors). I am waiting on a few things I need to put these together. Do you have an idea when you will ship the next and can I send them to you for shipment if I get them together in time?

As things continue to arrive and there still are some donations we just continue to ship. I am shooting for the 28th of April for the next box. There are a few things coming from Canada I am waiting on too. We also try to throw in some batteries or Pelican stuff as we can. These guys (gals too) just impress the heck out of me. I can't imagine what it is like but just hope to make it a little better. And pray for their safe return too!

Hello Kevin,

Keep up the good work. It sounds like we are making it a little bit better for those guys and gals, and they deserve it.

Tom

I was wondering - we are helping one unit, and that is very good - great really. At the risk of stretching the CPF too thin, should we consider that there may be other units out there with similar challenges ? This is just a question - I have no idea.

Well we could use something better than the crappy 3D Mags we have in our guard towers. Just kidding. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif We do have those for some reason, but for lighting up an area we have some spotlights. The vehicle searchers and some others have the Stinger HP's. Not too bad for the job, and small enough to get around when looking under seats and stuff.

Unfortunately coming up with the money needed to outfit even one more unit seems like it would be a lot. Maybe, since it's coming from a store, some units commanders who still have money in their own funds might be willing to part with some to outfit their guys with better equipment.

This got me thinking on a serious note. If a unit does need lights, and the commander does have some discretionary funds to spend, maybe he/she could be convinced to spend it on his troops. My old company commander was willing to spend every cent he was authorised on us. I think that he purchased tons of stuff like SureFire weapons lights, and holsters (commercial thigh rigs). Many of the brigade's medics were bought Blackhawk medic bags, and even the brigade bought everyone a Gerber multitool and a decent tactical sling. And of course the extra stuff that isn't commercial, but still has to come from somebodies budget.

Hey Tom. How's it going?

Hello Unicorn,

Things are really tough here...

I am blowing up SL 35X lamps in my improved TigerLight and am getting ready to move on to a Welch Allyn (I think) 1111 lamp. The weather has been mostly sunny and in the mid 60's. We have had some rain and the grass is growing faster than I can mow it. The cat is shedding, the birds are building nests everywhere, and the park is full of people wondering what I am doing playing with a bunch of flashlights.

Wish you were here instead of there... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The most recent box from us CPFers has arrived in Iraq. Below is a note from Glen who replaced Nick who replaced Bryan McFalls. Whew. Got the box Healy! Thanks. Will ship with next one in about a week.

Dear Kevin and all of those at The Battery Station. This is Glen Finley (Bryan McFalls replacement). We received a shipment of flash lights and batteries yesterday. We want to thank you for your kind generosity. It's people like you that make a big difference in what we are trying to accomplish here in Iraq. The flash lights that you have sent have been very useful to us here, and we can't express enough how much they are appreciated. Small things like this are a big morale boost here. With all of the negative media, and the current events taking place it is nice to know that we are still supported by individuals such as all of you. Again, thanks so much for your support.

PS

I leave this site in one month. If you have any future shipments please send them to John Steger at the same address. He is my replacement. He will make sure that any items are distributed fairly to those individuals supporting Predator.

THANKS AGAIN FROM ALL OF US AT, 46ERS (PREDATOR)

I am sooo glad that you have been keeping this alive. I need to scrape something together and do something again soon.

Ditto that. I am hopeing to have a unique fund raiser, but that might take a while to pull off. Guess I'm just gonna hafta dig a bit. I don't want a small handfull of CPFers trying to keep this going on their own.
Gotta thinka something... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Hello 46ERS,

Keep up the good work. You have our support.

It's the least we can do to shed a little light over there.

Kevin

Thanks for your dedication to this extremely worthwhile project.
