The advertised input voltage range of 1.5V to 14V seems quite wide. It would be interesting to see what kind of output you can get with an input of 1.5V. Or more realistically for low voltage -- ~2.4V (2xNiMH), ~2.5V-3V (1x123A), and ~3.6V (3xNiMH or 1xLi-ion). This range suggests a 4P MC-E.

Boy thats expensive for a Chinese copy of SF. Single mode I presume? If you want to mate this to a 6P or C2 or something its another $30 for an adapter. Thats getting up there and is TLS quality that good?

seriously 730 lumens for a 2 cr123? So...like... put it on my 6PL? that is a lot of light.

The other TLS I have from OpticsHQ for my E2e I've been very happy with.

Though as Liteskr42 already said, it's pretty pricy and then + some more for a M2C adapter. ~$160 and I still need to supply my own light body etc.

Indeed if the ar15 forums link is anything to go by then the quality seems to be good...judging by the number of Mil and LEO types alledgedly using and not reporting any failures.

Still I can't help but think about the complete light package I could buy for ~$160....maybe a JB M1X....hmmmm


I too am interested in the "insides" so to speak and the attention to detail in which it has been assembled with. If it truly is made well enough for LEO's etc then I would still consider it I guess. I am partial to this size head as opposed to the bigger Turbo Heads.
There were some beamshots comparing a C3 with HO lamp, but some more comparison beamshots of indoors and also outdoors capability would be a great help.

I'm not usually drawn to that big of a bezel, but it does look really nice (Oh wait, that's because it is a blatant copy of a Surefire!). Besides that, no neutral no sale anymore unless there is an easy upgrade. I agree the cost for a 'cheaper alternative' is a little (lot) steep. 60% profit anyone? I'd rather just get a real KL2 and put in it what I want and feel good about it.

I just took a low-light shooting class, and the head instructor had one with a Surefire M500A forend on an AR-15. He mentioned it being his home defense setup, and like it a lot so far. This is a switched-on dude that wouldn't tolerate non-functional garbage on his long gun, so it was a pretty big endorsement of the TX4.

It was a very impressive light. Incredibly bright, massive spill, throws a huge spot. Judging by what I saw, I would say it's easily an honest 600 OTF lumens.

ETA: I noticed in the AR15.com thread that Pat Rogers said he had been running a TX4 and gave it a thumbs up. Huge endorsement there.

What low light course did you take? Who taught it? I just took a tactical carbine course and they barely mentioned lights. Although that was not the focus of the course. But as a Surefire addict, I had plenty of knowledge on the subject. Someone asked if I worked for SF haha.

Im curious to see how this performs next to my Seraph P7. I wonder how light it is compared the P7
