Somebody said how many have gone bad in this thread, I think it might be five or six - three to me. Not that many after all, especially if they all have similar problems, it was just a bad production run. The other problems were with shipping and CS - although I have always had good CS in my transactions.
 
Update to the update, to the update. Well, as you all now, I am still waiting for my replacement to be shipped out in hopes that it won't be a dud also. They were supposed to ship out latest by Friday and here Monday and still no shipping notification. :poof: I guess I am back on the rollar coaster......more follow-up e-mails, more calls. I have to say though that Nyctophiliac's patience is starting to wear off on me as even though I can only use low-low and high on my defective piece, I am enjoying the light. Hope it works out though.
 
I am happy to report that after all the problems with trying to buy a ARC 6 I just received my first McGizmo today and I will miss the ARC 6 but this has made up for everything I went through and then some. Sometimes there is a silver lining just buy a different light and deal with people that keep there word.
 
I just got off the phone and I MEAN LITTERY! They (maria) said that she shipped me a "replacement" Light on this past Friday. After Speaking to "someone" NOT MARIA! I was told that it did not ship! Somebody (i Do not know who) Said that she was going to check on it and call me back. I really do not know if they are really going to call me. If I do not hear back from them with in a couple hours I am going to cancle my order and ask for a refund. WHAT A SHAME!!!! I don't think that they (ARC) realize that we (the people that purchase their products) are in fat the one that keep their business in BUSINESS!!!

What gives with all the BS! GIVE ME A HONEST ANSWER FOR GOD's SAKE! how hard is it!!!! REALY!!!!

I hear ya! :sigh: I would rather wait a month to receive a "working" light if they told me upfront that there was some production delays MUCH rather than being given the run around to either buy more time or whatever. If you do decide to cancel your order, please tell them your frustrations and the many that others have experienced. I hope they call you back and things look brighter as I will be doing the same. Its like, should I spend another couple weeks waiting and waiting for a replacement when there is no garauntee it will even work right with the high probability of bad cases reported here? :candle: :mecry:
 
Now my ARC6 is being held up by a volcano in Iceland, as are the three I am returning.

I'm sort of beginning to enjoy the journey, I think that's called brainwashing.

Maria is still a delight to deal with, she cannot believe this situation either and seems determined to get me my light. All power to her in her endeavour.

They as in Maria said that if I wanted a replacement it would ship friday also and that is when I said just cancel my order. They said they would call me back once and never did so good luck with that. I gave them one chance only because of this thread that I started everyone gave me the heads up and it all came true so I was not going to play there game it was my way or now way. I would suggest the Haiku, its my first one and it will do the job just fine.
 
McGizmo makes a great product & stands behind it from what I have read. Congrats! I hope to get one someday.

Thanks everyone, I feel like I should be handing out cigars. I must say that I have had some nice things in the past but for some reason I really seem to be drawn in by nice titanium lights, I now look for any reason to use my light and when its a Mcgizmo they just have that solid feel and ease of use that is what makes them such nice lights. When you deal with Don you just know he will do what he says not like some other companies we know. I would have liked to have the ARC 6 but since they don't seem to care about us then why give them our money. When you buy something from the specialty makers like Don your money is much more appreciated and you also get a product you can be proud of. Thanks Per-Sev
 
Well the call did not come! I tried to call and no answer. Maybe things happen for a reason I do not know? Well I guess I will try again tomorrow. I really do want the light but at the risk of never getting one I would just as soon get my money back before it is too late for that to.

I sent mine back and they just received it today I made sure I sent it signature required so I know they got it. Now lets see how long it will take to issue a credit to the charge card. I was hoping that you would get your call but given my experiences I had my doubts. I don't think they care about anything anymore and judging by the issues of the majority of the people who posted here they might not be around long. If I had the money I would buy ARC and set it up and run it like it should be. Keep us posted on what happens with your light. Thanks

There are just too many similarities between this thread and the Lummi Jeers thread! Great lights that despite being a bit spendy, are still viewed as being very desirable. Should be good business, except that both companies refuse to do what it takes to keep customers happy - primarily not lying to them, and that is all that it can be at this point. There are far too many cases of people being told their light is on the way, only to have nothing show up.

Arc and Lummi both need to call Henry and ask him how he consistently answers or returns customer calls so quickly, finds time to post here and help us out, and ship his lights so quickly that they arrive before they're slated to leave his shop.

How many employees do all three of these companies have? I'm going to start a new thread on this topic and get out of the way here, but this is nothing but madness, that they keep jacking their customer base around, and then expect to stay solvent. :sigh:
 
any first impressions about your first McGizmo?

I just took it outside to see what she could do and the light was set up perfect. I am no expert like most of you are so I don't know what to look for as far as tint and beam quality I just went by how well the Haiku XP-G light things up. I was at first a little concerned that it would not throw as far as I wanted but standing at my side door and shining it across the street and lighting up my neighbors house and the trees in his back yard was quite impressive. My lot is 80 feet so half that from where I was standing to the street and then his house is further back than mine is I would say another 60 feet and then the trees in his back yard were another 20 feet now this was on high of course but I could see the branches in his trees from where I was standing. Then I just had it on low and could see to the top of my trees and my hole back yard was visible. Then on the middle setting my back yard was totally light up I could see everywhere and everything in it. I would say that about covers everything with one light however Don figured out what to set all three settings at was perfect. I don't know if it makes any difference but my Haiku XP-G is the AA2 with Duracell alkaline batteries. I would seem that them beam pattern works for both a flood pattern and for distance. I guess my first impression is that this is a light that will cover almost any situation that I will need it for and my other lights won't be getting much use anymore.

6 weeks and still no Arc6. I have been thinking of cancelling and asking for a refund but I keep waiting because I really want the light. I will wait a few more days.......................

Don is KING, I should have kept the Haiku but needed the money at the time. If I get a refund from Arc I will go back to one of Dons lights again.

Have you got a tracking number yet what does your order status say. If there is no tracking number then forget it I would just cancel it but if not there maybe hope still. Depending on your order status if there is a confirmed tracking number then I doubt you can do anything till its delivered or considered lost. I may just take be taking longer because of the volcanic ash or some other problem. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that gets a working light. Keep us posted.

I don't have a tracking number. I decided to just cancel the order and asked for a refund, did this via email (I'm sure they won't reply) as they never do.

I also tried calling them min ago with no answer. I will call again later.
