Which has better throw, the M60 or M61? I have heard different things. I want better throw but now after ordering the M61 I keep hearing the M60 would have more throw. Opinions?
Today I received the Malkoff MD2 with high/low switch and M61.
This is my second MD2, the first was with M60 and high/low switch.
Short impression:
The beam profile is reminding of Quark Mini CR123 though slightly narrower beam; the total output is significantly higher as well as hotspot and spill brightness. Total output also is higher than as well Fenix TK10 and Malkoff M60.
M61 is great for bright short and mid distance illumination, as well TK10 and M60 throws better so M61 really is not a thrower.
Conclusion: this is another great Malkoff product, a very useful flashlight for allround use. The outer performance is exactly the same as the MD2-M60 so I have to be careful I bring with me the right one for the moment...
And what the right one is may be a difficult question, because they both have each advantage...
Next order from Malkoff I consider to get at least one pocket Clip and Tail Shroud. Apart from the new Wildcat MD3 of course!
Malkoff quality always makes me smile...

I'm with you- Malkoff makes amazing gear, and provides fantastic service!
I'll be interested to see what you think of the MD2 tail shroud/pocket clip... while I like having the clip on the MD2, the shroud actually gets in the way of activating the switch with the thumb in the Harris style hold. Even momentary on is blocked, unless you use a cigar style hold. You have to approach the switch more straight on with the shroud in place. I hope that my description makes sense.
