Sold/Expired Orders - Programmable Hotwire Regulated Driver drop-in for D-M@g

Update:
I'm sorry I haven't firmed this up earlier. (Busy & confused.) I've been reading recommendations & reviews and think the following best fit my current goals.

I'd like:

2 standard model regulators,
1 programming interface, and
1 spare push button.

I've received Kiu sockets to provide. So I calculate:

2 * 97 + 12 + 9 = 215 * 1.0825 + 7 = 239.74

w/tax & S/H. Call it $240. Paypal sent.

I'd like the first regulator configured with the standard UI features, the recommended values for 12 eneloops and the minimum of the recommended voltages for the WA1185 & WA1331 bulbs, and type B shutdown.

The second regulator I'd like configured with the standard UI features, the recommended values for 9 eneloops and the recommended voltages for the WA1274 bulb, and type B shutdown.

I'll send PP once I figure out if this is OK and when I can slide back on to the active list. Thanks.

Was:
I'm overwhelmed, but guess I need to post a place holder.

I'm sure I want two, but one in July and one later is fine. I will want a programming adapter too. It sounds like I want Kiu sockets. (Just the socket or full kit? I'll order some.)

Since I'll be acquiring most of the rest of the parts, I'm trying to understand the different bulb options and voltages. (Probably first will be for a WA1185. Second definitely TBD.)

Sorry to be wishy-washy & thanks!

No problem, just update your posting as you figure it out. Nice to hear from you, our #1 person in the interest list

Kiu won't sell sockets without kits, you can get one kit with socket and one spare socket, so you can get two sockets. The Kiu standoffs may be useful for changing bulb height. The aluminum piece won't be needed.

I would like to confirm my interest to two kits. My applications require high voltage, and the kit form makes most sense. I have necessary parts to convert standard regulator to high voltage one, so standard kit works for me.

Order:
- Quantity of Regulator KITS: 2 standard
- Standard Model Regulator:
- Quantity of Osram Socket Upgrades:0
- Quantity of User Supplied Sockets:0
- Quantity of Programming Adapters:1
- Quantity of USB Programmers:0
- Spare Pushbutton switch assembly: 1
- Shipping: $9.00
- Total: $TBD

Payment (do not pay until directed):
- Total Amount:
- Paid via PayPal on (date)

Thanks!

Alan, I have 20 extra KIU bulb holders I can send you. See PM asking about testing list for Prototype #2. I will be ordering 8-9 of the complete sleds, so please consider the other 11-12 as gifts to use as you see fit.

Alan, I only have 2 KIU sockets on hand and the rest on order. Send me your address by PM and I will mail them to you. If I could "borrow" one of Lux's until my order arrives, I will send the third socket to you then.

I'm still in, just trying tosort out my configurations...

One will be a high power Osram in a Colossus (8s), just need to decide on the bulb. The others will likely be 1185s on 12xNiMh for longer regulated output.

I need 2 Kiu sockets for the latter, I guess I had better get them ordered.

I would like to update my order. Do you object to this?

Hi,
I missed something, what is the reason for "Spare Pushbutton switch assembly" ???

Thanks,

Kent

Someone was concerned about losing, damaging or wearing out the switch. Since it is easily replaced, I put it on the list. The switch is rated for a lot of use, so I don't think the spare is really required. They are pretty small so there is some possibility it could get lost when removed.

I believe the list in post #2 is up to date at this point. Any corrections please post here.

Machinist update - sled production to start saturday, completion late next week. This is a good match with the PC board schedule. Most other parts are already in, at least in some quantity. Many parts are here in large quantity including the higher risk parts like the FET.

The 50V power supply is in. This will be used for regulator calibration.

I am updating the software to include default values for various popular bulbs. If you specify the bulb you plan to use, and it is in LuxLuthor's destructive testing list, I will add it to the software defaults. The default max voltage is set a bit below the 10 hour lifetime point. The default low is set for about 1/5th the maximum voltage. The default lockout basic flashlight mode level is set to a bit above the lowest level. For example, on my WA1164 it is a bit brighter than a 2D flashlight in this locked out basic flashlight simulation.

So if the bulb you are using is in LuxLuthor's destructive test list, and you are okay with the 10 plus hour values, you do not need to specify the bulb voltages. They will then default to the values we have chosen.

This new mode - the lockout basic flashlight simulation - has not been mentioned in this thread, so I'll mention it here. When the light is locked out, if this basic mode is enabled, the light will behave as a simple on/off light a this pre-programmed fixed level. No other features work, and the user interface is click-on and click-off. In this version the timeout still applies, later I may make a separate timeout value for this mode. But for now it has the same timeout as the main modes have.

Alan, I realize you hardly need me to say it, but you're doing some nice work here.

I will take 2. One in the first run and one later. I will want a programming adapter too. I am still figuring out how I want them.

I read that some send you spare KIU sockets. It would be nice if I can get two "left over" KIU sockets. I will need to figure out how to pay the owners for them.

Price List
Payment will be via PayPal to sales at akbeng dot com unless otherwise arranged. Prices subject to change.

Kiu Socket upgrade (subject to availability, may cause delays): 10$
Spare Pushbutton switch assembly: 9$

Starlight - Kiu sockets rcvd.

Roland - Thanks for the order.

Not sure about how to deal with extra sockets yet. At this point I have only extra sockets from one person, and I'm using those for development and test at this point.

I'm considering making an option where I will buy Kiu kits with spare sockets to get the Kiu sockets and charge about $10-12 per Kiu socket. That's assuming he will sell the kits to me, which I suspect he will. He just does not want to sell sockets separately.

Or you can order the Kiu socket kit and spare socket and have them sent straight to me. That has worked also.

Sylathnie - thanks for the order. The present unit is high power, it has been tested to well over 300 watts. You probably meant high voltage. So noted.
