Was curious has anybody underdriven the Osram 62138 or 64625 at 11.1 volts? Is the beam too yellow? Anyone have a lumen estimate or reading? How does this effect bulb life? Is it detrimental? I have three Emoli and a 3D Mag waiting to go.

Well put together a 3D mod today. Used Kiu Mag D High Temp socket kit. Using 3xEmoli and 3xA123 for comparison. Alas the Osram 62138 underdriven is a tad too yellow for my taste, reguardless of cells. Now the Osram 64625 underdriven with 3xEmoli is nice. Beam is a pleasing shade and usable. I am guessing about 2500-3000 lumens. With 3xA123 it was usable also, but just a tad more off white. I am going to say that the Osram 64625 underdriven with 3xEmoli is very viable mod. Saving my A123 to make that 4xA123 overdriven 62138.

Yes sir! Exactly the type of questions I had on a bunch of bulbs, so did the testing here.

Have 4 more bulb results to post later tonight

The Osram 64610 using 3xEmoli look's pretty good in my light as well as
the 64625, The 62138 3xEmoli color temp maybe a little different in mine
not enough to really bother me. With a aspherical len's focused the 138
seem's to throw a little better to me and I got it to burn some colored newspaper
didn't have much luck with the other one's. 4xA123 dedicated
to the 62138 will be next,then 64623 in a 4D with a Lux L. 15.6v pack I should be ready to roast marshmallow's.

Just put together a 4D mod. 4xA123 with 62138 rocks the house. Tubular filament + SMO FiveMega Reflector + 50mm x 250mm Aspherical lens = Excellent Throw. As per LuxLuther's http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=179748&highlight=destructive+bulb should be putting out 3700-4000 lumens. On the downside only 15 minutes or so of run time and after 4-5 minutes of constant running get pretty hot. No damage to flashlight just it turns it into a hand warmer on those cold Michigan nights. Compairing it to other horizontal filament bulbs I have I would have to say if given the choice make mine tubular.
