Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

That's awesome. I'm interested in a:
Single mode 1.4amp (4-14v) - R2 4000k B3 tint

Price is $35 x 1.04 = $36.40 Is that correct? I live in Australia, how is this shipped? Does the price include shipping?

Price is correct shipping is below

1st class Int is $5 Priority mail with tracking is $15

Also, I've noticed that you have 1 mode 2.8 amp drivers. Can these be used with 2 RCR123's in a linger special?

No sir sorry 6 volts only

Thanks for your time.

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Quick question:

Which is brighter, the Cree XP-G R5 or the Luminus SST-50?

Also, I prefer cool, HID-colored tints to warmer or neutral.
Which module would you recommend?

Thanks.

Hi

The SST 50 is about 550 lumens maybe a touch more depending on host and batts.

The XPG R5 is about 325 to 330 lumens, these are Out the front lumens not manufacturer bulb lumens.

Both are about the same for throw and spill.

I have coolwhite in both. Neither though are bluish white just white.

ok is the Cool White W65S-GJ102-WJ-G3 the same price as the SST-90 at $80?

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Perfect, please quote a sst-50 OP 3 mode.
There was some mention of what driver to use with 2xcr123/18650.

PM sent yesterday.

Thanks!

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

I'm looking for 1, maybe 2 dropins. Both running on 2-3xAAs, what are my options for:

1. Brightest, multilevel flood possible
-maybe something like an XRE 1.0-4.2v 3 mode with a 40 deg optic, maybe an XPG low voltage driven near its limit?

2. Best throw possible

What can you recommend?

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Hello again.
Sorry for asking so many questions -I'm kind of new to all of this...
After reading a bit more I think I want a linger special now.

Is this available in R2 4000k B3 tint?
Is the 2.8A 3.6-6v driver ok to use with these? Or do you have a 2.5a single mode option?

I plan to run this with IMR18650 in a solarforce l2p.

Thanks again for your help - hope this is my final question before I decide on what to order 🙂

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Ive got the R2 Linger with the 2.8 single mode driver and
LOVE IT!!

I use it with a regular AW18650 2600 and its really bright.

It does warm up quick - not sure if it would be brighter with
an IMR. Maybe for 30seconds or so with a shorter run time
since IMR dont have as much capacity.

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

I'm not really after brightness with IMR :> I'm just risk adverse.
Thanks for your comments on linger 🙂 I'm just waiting for nailbender to confirm linger is available with the warm xpg (doesn't seem to be listed) before I send him cash.

I have a feeling I will end up with the sst50 warm as well eventually 🙁 when it comes back in stock.

Hi

The XRE wth wide optic is a good choice if you are after mainly flood. The optics I have only work with XRE.

The XPG is reflector and a good mixture of throw and flood.

The boost driver you mention will work best with 2X AA but will work with 3aa but it is a driver I set a pot so if set for 2XAA it may get hot with 3XAA.
If you were going to run 3XAA then some of the drivers I use with 18650 cells would probably be best with the 3XAA config.

I have a few single mode 2.8 amp left but as mentioned they will get warm. If extended run times are needed then levels may serve a function since med is still very bright. I do understand some need one level only for work.
Make sure you understand this is a total flood module with only moderate throw at best.

I plan to run this with IMR18650 in a solarforce l2p.

I am not sure what you mean by risk adverse. Make sure you buy Li Ions with a PCB and they are safe. The IMR as mentioned is much lower capacity and if the module is regulated it doesn't matter what you use battery wise as long as it falls with in the voltage range the amperage will be the same in most circumstances. The IMR is only brighter in direct drive modules. The dual are regulated.

I am not quite sure why i keep getting asked about this question if I have an XPG in singular form I will of course be able to offer in dual form since I simply add another led to the MCPCB board.
I did not think it necessary to list this twice😀
Sorry

I am not sure what you mean when it comes back into stock. What you see is what you get. The cost prohibits me carrying but so many.
I carry what is used the most and 3000k is not one of them.
The 4500k is as good as it will get in SST 50.

Paypal sent for:

1x Linger special. R2 4000k B3 tint. Single mode 2.8A driver. $45 + $5
Priority mail with tracking $15

Total = $65 x 1.04 = $67.60

Regarding the IMR cells - I'm just not really comfortable investing in LiCo at the moment - sorry for confusion 😀

Thanks for your help.

I will take it. paypal on its way.

Hi Nailbender !,

I joined CPF just to ask you this question.

I'm hoping to install wingtip recognition lights in a full sized airplane . I don't have a lot of space in the wingtips but could go up to 2" in dia.

The lights would be on/off and fed from the aircraft electrical system at 14.1 -14.5 V .

Could you recommend a set up that would provide a medium flood pattern ?

Thanks,
Marc

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

regarding the 40deg optic, how is the beam? is it all spot, or is it a 40deg spot with slide spill?

do you have anything between 40deg and 8 deg?

I'm already getting a dereelight pill, is it possible to fix it with one for your optics?

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Hi Red02

The 40 degree is like a large hotspot with side spill the 60 degree is all flood no hotspot.

I have some 20 degree on order but no idea when they will arrive. Could be several weeks as they are combined with a back ordered item.

The chance of attaching my optics to another vendors pill probably won't work. The reason is the holder I use need the emitter to be shimmed up 2mm to for all to work correctly.

:paypal:

For Cree XP-G R2 4000k B3 tint
1 level 3.6-6 volts

$35+4%=$36.40

Thanks!

Note: I don't know if this kind of module comes in both direct drive or regulated flavors, but I would like it regulated at 3.6-6v. Thanks you very much.

Hi

No problem!! I only build regulated XPG modules so regulated it is.

Re: P60 XPG modules in warm, neutral, cool white/ SST-50 -90 P60 dropin Modules (part

Just got my SST-90 Direct Drive today, and I just have to share the joy:devil::
P5040005.jpg

SST-50 2.8A regulated on the left. SST-90 Direct Drive w/IMR 18650 on the right.

The hotspot is bigger, yet it's also brighter than the SST-50. The spill from the 90 is also roughly 3 times brighter than the spill from the 50.

The real test is going to be tonight after dark:devil:.

The catch is that the light gets real warm after 20-30 seconds with plenty of Arctic Silver 5 and copper tape on the pill. I guess "specialized" would definitely describe this module.
