Does anyone buy their para cord at an actual store? I was wondering if any retail chains sell it by the foot...walmart, building supply stores, ace hardware, etc? I know its cheap but i cant make myself pay $6 bucks (I know I'm being tight) for shipping to buy a dollar worth of cord. I want it for a lanyard but wont be buying very much.

Welcome to CPF camdz!

I get a glow in the dark/reflective utility cord from REI. It's 30 cents a foot.

I'm sure any outdoor outfitter will have a simular product. Parachord is just so... boring!

My lanyards literally shine.

get some 1000ft spools, and sell 100ft parts for a small profit.
free paracord!:D

If you have a "Joes" outdoor store near you; they sell paracord by the foot. Some military surplus stores do as well.

The REI stuff is not paracord, but it works well for some applications.

****'s Sporting Goods has paracord. But it's kinda cheesy, definatly not as thick as 550, and when you burn the ends it blackens into a chared hard end instead of melting to a nice smooth button. It's in green and yellow packaging, I can't recall what brand, but the same as the low end start-sticks, tent pegs, etc. I think Walmart and Target also sell that cheap brand (Not Ozarc Trail).

Welcome to CPF. Send me a Pm with your address and I'll send you a few feet of OD green, if you want that color.

i get mine from a military surplus store that sells all sorts of colors in 100 foot segments for 6 bucks, then i make stuff and sell it to finance my gadgetry addiction

Try supply captain. Mil-spec and different colors. Fast shipping and very good prices.

Can paracord be purchased in smaller diameters. I want to use some for my smaller lights, such as CR2.
