PD12vn - RCB 1

u5ypunu9.jpg

For those interested, I used the battery tube of a PD22 on my PD12vn which allows me to use the clip and hang it on my leatherman pouch just like the PD22 rode for a year or so. It also helps me locate the button immediately since I keep the clip inline with the button.

Good points from Tmack re posting cells/heat/runtime on first page of each light. I'm afraid I have been an abuser of this.

Anyway, I am enjoying the PD12vn that I received yesterday from Vinh (Thanks Vinh). My only complaint is that I can't find the power button in the dark because it is somewhat subtle to "feel" for it. So I put a drop of ultra control Super Glue just beyond the button and let it dry. That helped but I still wasn't happy so I put a small drop right in the middle of the button. Now it's perfect:

Below I used a magnifying glass so you could see the relief:

I also found it difficult to find button. I found myself[in dark] pressing down for the entire circumference of the light!

Good idea,,,,,tedious work!! 😉 One slip and the button would be crazy glued shut!!! Mine looks like yours,,,,I put a small drop right in the center of the button! I am waiting for it to dry, very humid today! 🙂

Good luck Capolini. I actually just put another drop of Super Glue on top of the first one to build it up a little more and make the button obvious. It works well. I think the absence of tactile feedback on the original is a design flaw. What good is a flashlight that requires another flashlight to be able to find the on button in the dark?

Thanks!! I did the same thing,,,putting another drop on top of original drop to build it up!!

What happens to mine is when I first apply it it is a nice raised drop! However, there must be air in it because after about 5 minutes it seems to deflate and flatten out!!

I am actually thinking of doing a third app. but I am concerned some will dribble off the side of the switch and permanently disable the button!

They should have raised the button like other lights I have,,,,,,,,,,,,a quick and minimal twist and the light is locked out!

That was CLOSE!!!!! Of course I want this bead of Crazy glue as raised as possible!!

Not satisfied[although probably good enough!] w/ my 3rd app., I just put a 4th app.!! I put a much bigger bead than I wanted to. No exaggeration here! It covers about 70% of the button now and it literally went within a few hair widths from falling off the edge of the button which would have most assuredly sealed it for good!! 😱

I pushed the envelope!! I have a nice raised button now and I am grateful I did not ruin this $70 mini thrower!!! 🙂

RAISE ME "5"!!!

I put Five[5] applications of crazy glue on my PD12vn!! It is a mini Mt. Rainier!!!

As you can see by the picture it is raised higher than my S20's button!!! 🙂

RAISE ME "7"!!! I added 2 more layers. Looks even better!! It has become a fun obsession,I mean project!!! 🙄

It is a Dedomed mini thrower w/ a custom made "Domed" button!!! :twothumbs

Have to be careful on raising 7" oh hang on "7"😛

Nice work and result there roberto:twothumbs great little light is that too😎

The button on the PD35 to change modes is just as hard to find as the on/off button on the PD12. I was awakened a few nights ago at 4 AM by our central vacuum, which decided to turn itself on, apparently to check my response time. So I turned on the PD35vn, which I happened to have left on turbo and completely blinded myself like a dufus. Then I got mad because I couldn't find the little rubber button to change modes. Meanwhile, my wife is already downstairs turning the vacuum off while I am futzing with this stupid light with my eyes closed. So today I did the same thing with the Super Glue gel on the button and it worked well. But I only used one big drop/one layer. Seems to be sufficient. Hope the vacuum doesn't test me again...next time I'll just shoot it.
