Done! Order placed.
I know.... It's going to look a little weird having a Ti clip on an otherwise all-brass light. But I don't mind. Doubt Brass Head will either. The problem with making a really good light is that sometimes a customer is very happy and satisfied with the literal one that they bought.

I think it'll look great with a Ti clip. Found this image on google search

I like the look of mixed special metals like Ti, brass, SS, and copper. I'm not a fan of plain steel clips on specialty metal lights. For example the Reylight pineapple mini Ti should come with a Ti clip instead of the steel one. Does not match well IMO aluminum body light with a steel clip is acceptable. However I am fine with a SS light with a Ti clip, but that's just my pickiness kickin in.

Don't tell us this. I would email Rey he probably would take your input. It doesn't bother me at all but I can see your point.

I may ask and see if he has any plans for that in future. It's not a big deal and won't keep me from not buying them again, just my preference. I know some of his other lights have Ti clips.

It looks like they ship defective lights overseas, but everything inside the country goes through stricter controls. I wrote about this in March 2019, the QTC was destroyed within a couple of hours, a little bit later I noticed that the head was fogged up and then discovered an unsealed gap. After fixing the leak in the basement, just on the day the lantern arrived, I took it with me. They promised to make a new head, but then they simply stopped answering letters.

I was thinking about replacing a Fenix E01 with a non-qtc Peak Eiger.

Seeing this it might be better to look elsewhere.

Requirements:
  • Reliable
  • Durable
  • Hi CRI
  • Warm or neutral
  • Preferably one mode of around 20 to 40 lumen
The Peak Eiger would fit the bill, but...

Yes, but without a body. And it's probably an older LED that's less efficient than a current one (shorter runtime).

This is my old light..... I took this photo on our then "new" picnic table. I have since reluctantly sold it..

Regarding Peak light and quality.... They have always been some of the best made flashlights that I have ever purchased. The customer service is second to none. You also have to keep in mind that these lights are 100% hand made by Robyn.. A single human that also has an everyday life and family. Humans by nature will make a few mistakes.... its natural... I know for a fact that with every light she ships, she includes her contact information. Why not just reach out to her and ask for a solution.

As far as functionality goes...... that light would work and work for an eternity. And like others have stated..... I would also gladly take it off your hands.

I just might order another brass ultra eiger setup!! miss mine.

I would definitely order one. You never know how long it could be if they decide to quit producing lights

It's closer to 90 lumens, but the Skilhunt E2A is a single mode twisty. It's really small, and pretty cheap, so there's not a lot that CAN go wrong with it.

But, for what it's worth, I have a single mode (no QTC) stainless steel Eiger (and an Ultra) with the warm CRI head, and it's really great. ESPECIALLY with that Prometheus clip.
