I have the Nichia 219 in mine and I would like to know if it is worth getting some 17500's and charger. If it is not a fair amount of difference than with the AA's I will run it with the AA's.
Thanks,

low

A lot more, around 300 Lumens with 17500, not only that, runtime will be a lot better too if used in low modes.

I use my Logan always with an 17500, its a lot brighter and runtimes are really good, the AA option for me is there just in case (i really like having the option)

My bad. I left out that I have the Nichia 219 from Oveready.

I did see that you can get 300 lumens with the cool tint but nothing on the Nichia 219.

A 17500 puts out 3.7V vs an eneloop's 1.2V, so it's a lot brighter. The only dilemma left is the cost of a charger and batteries. If you use your Logan very frequently, then by all means buy a charger and li-ions. I use a Pila IBC and two AW 17500. Altogether it'll cost you about $80. Compared to the cost of CR123s it will pay for itself many times over. Not to mention the IBC can charge a multitude of cells. I've used mine since 2/07.
