M6, M8, Sabrelight, what's the diffence in these led lights? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

The M6 LED is the same host body (though going through some changes) as the incan version but it has a 1 watt lamp assembly instead of the incan and comes with a clickie (some red, some black). The M8 LED and SabreLite are both 3C LED light that uses Pelican's "Recoil Technology" which has the 1 watt LED mounted on an aluminum bridge and faces into the reflector so that 100% of the light is gathered, focused and reflected at the target. The M8 uses a clickie on the body and the SabreLite uses a twist on/off, but is submersible while the M8 LED is only "water resistant."

Oh, and the M6 and M8 put out a nice tight beam for great throw, but the M6 has side spill while the M8 has very little to none at all. The SabreLite hasn't come out yet.

SO....the M6 and M6-LED's body are the same! (except the light source and the clickie) Am i understanding it correctly? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Because the M6-LED have no silver version so....

evanlocc--yes, the ones I have are interchangeable (remember to switch reflectors too), but keep in mind that the M6 LED host body is constantly evolving *edited*. Check out BatteryStation's CPF page for a pic of the new incan lamp assembly. It doesn't look like taking it out and replacing it with the LED lamp assembly will be a problem, but without trying one out I can't say for certain.

*edited because I'm an idiot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twakfl.gif

What is the lawsuit about? The Pelican M6 LED doesn't even look like a Mag, function like a mag, or have the same crappy beam as a Mag. Why is Mag suing? Because Pelican put a far superior light out?

I sure am behind times. First I've heard of the Pelican suit. And just what is the M6 supposed to have infringed upon?

Probably the adjustable focus infringing upon Mag's patented focus

That's what I read somewhere--but lemme go and find the thread to double-check.

I wanted to know if they were same too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I've got a M6-led on the way, and I was thinking getting one of the new fixed lamps.

Okay, guys--I went and edited the lawsuit part out of my post as I can't find the original posts that mentioned it and really that's not what this whole thread was about anyway. So to avoid further deviation from the topic (and opening a whole can of worms), I edited the post.
