A guy I work with bought a Pelican 3370 and has decided that he's getting tired of buying batteries for it, so I'm helping him look for some RCR123 batteries for it.

Which brings me to a question, do you know of any replacement 12 volt bulbs that fits his light? I'm wondering if his light would be any brighter with three 3.7V batteries even though that would be slightly under driving by about 1 volt or less. If not brighter, would it happen to run any longer than say three 3.0 volt batteries with the stock bulb?

The M3 3370's replacement lamp is deeper than a standard D26 lamp. If Pelican doesn't make a 12V version, I'm afraid that nothing else will fit. The stock lamp should throw exceedingly well; according to Flashlight Reviews, the 6V version throws 80 percent as far as the old benchmark--the Streamlight T3.

FWIW my Pelican M3 LED has been running very well on a pair of protected 17500 cells from Lighthound. These cells will also run a Streamlight TL-3 incan. or SF P90, so they probably will work OK for the M3 3370 your friend has. HTH.

Are you sure a Lumens Factory HO-9 or EO-9 lamp assembly won't fit? If the lamp assembly is similiar to the Pelican M6 then it will fit providing the head on the Pelican M3 turns separate from the body to adjust for the depth of the lamp assembly. Then he could run with 2 17500 batteries. I am only speculating, because I am running a HO-9 in my Pelican M6.

FlashKat: No, I'm not sure; I'm glad to be wrong!

Well, I am guessing someone out there has to have both a 3370 and either a pelican M6 or a SF 9p.
Anyone want to try the stock bulb assembly from one of those in a 3370? You don't even have to try to turn it on, I just want to know if it closes up correctly? I figure if those fit then the D26 9series will at least be worth buying to try in my 3370.
Please?
