I have an Arc with Blue LED. The LED is off center and flickers even with a new battery installed and even after tightening the head securely.

Is this something normal with the blue LED's?
I know that the blue LED has been discontinued by Arc but I was wondering if this is something that can still be fixed...Thanks!

As frequent visitors to the Arc forum can tell you, the centering and flickering is not caused by the LED. The centering is a manufacturing yield issue whileas the flickering is usually caused by a poor ground.

The centering cannot be fixed but the flickering can often be fixed with a good crimp (search key phrase: "roll crimp"). You may also find this page on Arc Maintenance useful.

We stopped making blue over a year ago and much has been improved on our flashlights since then. We could look at the light and possibly make it work better but there is a limit to what can be done with that unit. We could replace it, but since the blues are no longer available, it would have to be a white.

Let me know which direction you go on this.

Thanks for the reply Peter.

I think I'll ignore the off-centered LED but if I send it in, your people can fix the flickering problem and still preserve the blue LED, correct?

What address do I use?

We may or may not be able to fix the flickering on that particular unit. Our address:

Arc Flashlight
1835 E. 6th Street
Suite 21
Tempe, AZ. 85281 USA

Please include your return address and a note asking us to try to repair the unit if possible.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if you aren't able to fix it, will the light still be usable? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
