i'm going to get one of these three. I'm not sure how having the battery pack on the back of the head feels. Any comments

I LOVE my Corona,

the batts on the back of the head make the headlamp alot more balanced on your head, especially when looking down.
The only thing I dont like is if you are laying on your back, and your head is on a pillow etc. but I rarely use my headlamp in the situation.

The corona is excellnt, you get 4 regulated, and 4 direct drive modes.
Plenty of light, I use mine for caving.

Heres a review and pics of it.

I only know the Tikka from the above list. Its nice and not to heavy at the front since it runs on AAA batts. I second jtice, in that battery pack at the rear can get in the way layin on back etc. I also found that separate battery packs give the light much bigger pack volume, if thats a consideration.

mcl2u,

kinda depends on what your intended use is. The 3 lights you listed are quite different in size, weight, performance, etc. Can you give us an idea of what your primary use is? Tikka is a great little task light that you'll hardly notice on your head (many mornings I've woken in bed or bag still wearing it after latenite reading session). Corona's a flood monster that's great for intensive use such as caving. I've no experience w/the Septor.

I have a Septor and like it quite a lot. However, without regulation, it will go into a long long decline in output and you will end up replacing the batteries when they are only half used up. With the Corona, the battery output is regulated and will be constant until the batteries are nearly gone.
