Hi guys,
It's time for another flashaholics get together in NJ. Yes it's time for PF3, (Photon Fest 3)! For those of you who were not at the first two, they were simple get togethers with about 15-20 flashaholics. We met at Milkyspit's house in Califon NJ. He lives out in the sticks. It gets very dark there, a great place to play with...uh I mean test our lights. Directly across from his house is a huge field and there is an abandoned quarry only a short walk away.
Anyway I spoke to Milkyspit, and he is up for hosting PF3. His only request is if you are sick or even think you might be getting sick please don't come. The get together is in his house and he and his wife just had a baby a few weeks ago, and understandably they don't want any extra bad germs in the house.
Everyone usually brings something, such as soda, bottled water, cookies, bag of chips, pretzles, etc. Some of us even brought some little give aways such as key chain lights, and other flashaholic related items to give away to eachother. At some point we usually go out to a pizza or sub shop for our more substantial meal.
Additionally, there is usually a show-and-tell time, when we show off our new/old/and interesting lights. So please bring all the lights you can. There is time for swap meet/for sale stuff, so bring some extra cash. (I myself plan on bringing more than 20 lights to sell). And of course after dark we usually go out and light up the night. The quarry is a great place to test out your favorite lights.
We want to give everyone some lead time so that they can arrange to be there. Three weeks is usually enough advanced notice, however that puts us right at Thanksgiving weekend, which doesn't work out. So the following Saturday, which is December 4th is the tentative date.
Also please inform any other NY, NJ, CT, PA etc, flashaholics who might want to attend, not everyone frequents this area and might miss it. And note that this is a good opportunity to bring those "closet" flashaholics to. They can see what its all about and walk away with a good deal on a light.
Please stay tuned to this area for updates, including a
firm date/time and directions.
