I noticed that when the batts are removed from the light it looses it`s memory and all ways starts out on high. Does this mean it`s sucking a millamp or two even when not in use to retain it`s memory? If so can you tell how much...Craig?

Will this light kill the batts in 6/12 months even if you don`t use it?

Well, let's see... it might be hard to get a measurement because of the way the battery tray is configured, but here goes.

1: The first step of course, is to FIND it.... (imitates sound of ticking clock) :0

2: Disembowel light.

3: Micro clips would be nice right about now, but they were destroyed last winter. Improvise with wire LED leads...

4: That didn't work... improvise some more...

5: Standby current is 2 microamps, or 0.000012 watts. Even for smaller batteries, this is neglegible and should not even be considered. The battery's self-discharge rate is probably far higher.

Thanks for checking that Craig, I would have hated the idea of the light draining the batt just resting
