TEST UNIT APPEARS TO HAVE BLOWN UP

(Edit)
The test sample was apparently defective, and a replacement is on the way.
I've been asked to delay any further testing until I receive the replacement. So the chart above has been reset and is ready.

That good, huh? I wonder if it uses the same exact circuit as the Photon 3

(It does after all appear to have the same basic functionality).

Wow the circuit no longer functions at all
now?
What kind of battery does that use?

Maybe they think that no one is nutty enough to actually wear the thing for 8 hrs. Did your head get warm? Are you OK? How did you manage to sit still for that long? I bet you cheated and used its standup head tilting mode. Maybe it overheated.

P.S. If you're not ROTFLOL, I sure am!

The circuit functions fine, as long as you have new batteries in it.
Apparently, this light is unusually intolerant of low operating voltages.
Around 3.4 volts did it in.
(1.1v plus 1.1v plus 1.2v)

During the "on" cycle of this bizarre failure mode, the LEDs were still too bright to look directly at.
I'm guessing there's an out of spec or downright wrong component somewhere on that circuit that's causing it to drop out until the battery voltage recovers & rises above some set-in-stone limit, then switches itself back on, causing the voltage to sag again, shutting it down, resting the batteries causing the voltage to go back up, turning itself back on... lather, rinse, repeat.

Unit uses 3 "AA" cells.

I have forwarded my results & measurements to the appropriate person, and should have some kind of answer tomorrow.

It has the same circuit in it as the Photon III, but it also has an additional voltage converter which the Photon does not have.

The common circuit makes the switching in between different levels.

(That's my current knowledge about it)
