Photons and the phone company

My brother is an installer for Verizon. I gave him a Photon II for Christmas and he loves it. Tells me the industry standard is the mini maglite, but he finds the Photon to be much easier to hold in the mouth. Now all the guys he works with want one. Where should I recommend they order them from? Direct from Photon always seems a little pricey.

PS - He wishes the beam would be less focused for his use.

Regarding wanting a wider beam...I'd have him try the turquoise photon. Although color identification might be a problem. (I'm assuming he's using a white photon.)

You could always roughen the LED lens. A bit of 400 grit sand paper should do the trick.

If you are installing anything for the phone company, stick with White.

If you use any other color you will camoflauge the different colored wires and conduits.. etc. etc,as mentioned above.

You can also buy those mouthpieces for the mini-mag.

Could wind up making a boo-boo

Thanks everyone for the fast replys. The price at Triple Aught is great! The CMG O4 is a good suggestion, but my brother already likes the Photon II, so no point in changing horses midstream.

If you want a wider beam light the turquoise has a wider beam, but then you might loose the ability to see the differnt color, which is probably important to them

I would suggest giving the CMG 04 a try for mouth-held applications like that. Sure it costs a bit more and has a funny constant-on switching arrangement but it does work (at least- no problems yet) is waterproof and the ribbed moulded back part of the body is very bite-able- you won`t lose your grip that easilly. Plus mine is ever so slightly brighter than my Photon- they must be using the highest rank white leds. Nice light, I think
