picked up a blacklight flourescent @ Fry\'s Electronics, need some help with it....

how long do UV flourescents usually last, as in total runtime? this is a 15-watt 21 inch model.

According to a google search, UV bulb life ranges from 2000 to 18,000 hours.

Even those super-hot UV incandescents are supposed to last 500 hours.

I had a 48" UV black light and ran it for hours every day for several years, then sold it. Basically, if it's not battery powered one, it will last like a regular florescent tube.

Battery powered tube life is a function of the power supply it's connected to; how nice does it power the tube.
