Picture of the inside of a nine volt battery

I pulled one of these apart at work the other day. I got this picture off the web but it looked just like this. I read someone's post about there being 6 1.5 volt AAAA batteries inside. Now I'm trying to think of a good flashlight conversion to use these in.

You can get AAAA alkalines at Radio Shack very inexpensively using their 30% discount battery card. Why bother to tear apart 9 volts?

I have seen AAAA 2 for $2 at Walmart.
That's $1 each.
You can get a 9 volt for 3 bucks. That makes them 50 cents each. Mostly it was just for fun though.

Note that there may be some difference in the AAAA sold as a cell and the AAAA used in a pack - typically the Cell by itself has a button on top to press against the light or the next cell , while the AAAA interior lights have a flatop where a strip is spot welded. Also - take note as to the insulation on the 9V vs AAAA cell wall insulation - I'm not honestly sure which is better, but they are different (no bunny logo on it to begin with!)

I also take apart the 9V, but mainly to get the round connectors to use in making surfire rechargable prototypes (they use that exact connector at the top of their batteries - no way to buy it commercially except to tear open a 9V and cut it out.

I think the Radio Shack deal works out to about 65 cents each, but they don't have soldering tabs and I agree it's fun to tear stuff apart etc...
