Pilias in Inova X5

I cant remember if the Pilia rechargeables will fit in the Inova X5. I vaguely remember someone saying that the interior dimensions were too narrow, but I tried doing a search and failed to turn up anything.

Does anybody know if running the X5 off of Pilias is possible?

Yep, won't fit. I have the X5 and Pila and tried.

even if they would fit, 3.7V or even 4V out of
the charger versus the 6V of 2x 123A would result
in reduced brightness.

Tried the 17500 barecell in my bros X5 does work anf fit nicely. The light output does drop as much as the voltage indicates. If I remember correctly the nichia led are direct driven from the 6v but in serial and the voltage drops from the load to manageable level. The enegy output from the li-ion is higher and the voltage drops less.

edited to correct the type of barecell to use is the 17670.

I tried to fit a Pila 168S in two Inova X5s and an X5T, and it did not fit any of them. The inner diameter of the barrel is too small for the cell to fit in there.
