I bought a used illuminator . It uses 150Watt halogen bulb. however, for my use, the light isn't focused enough.
For use with gems or minerals, I need it to be very sharply focused. For example, look at the images of the "pinpoint attachments". They can be attached to the fiber optic end.
Unfortunately, nobody sells these pinpoint attachments anymore. Only one european company sells it but as a bundle with their whole setup (very costly).
How can I make my own attachment like this? to direct/focus the light on a very small point? I was thinking aluminum foil, since it has some reflectivity.
I don't want to just put tape or cover the fiber optic light, I want the whole intensity of it to be directed into a point.
Any ideas?
