How difficult is that? She's playing "Beautiful Dreamer" on the piano while singing "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer". She needs to work on her singing voice, though. She turns 10 tomorrow.

Surely harder than rubbing your belly and patting your head. I can do that... Sometimes.

But let us see her doing it. :D

What you're describing in this 10yo is something that many great artists have struggled with: the ability to seperate the instrument/s and the voice and then artfully combining them into one unique sound, without one tripping over the other.

A gifted young lady indeed.

After posting that she made up a song on the fly about how mean her older brother is to her and was ad-libbing it while playing "Beautiful Dreamer". I recorded her singing "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" but she messed up after a few seconds because she knew I was recording her. I'll see if I can put it up on youtube.

i hever did that, but i play wii tennis with 2 remotes right hand plays against left. that is fun, a lot more than play against wii or another player.

That's pretty challenging actually. Try once just listening to a song on the radio and singing a different song at the same time. It's hard. Sounds like a pretty talented kid to me.

When I was in school I'd try to split my brain like that and write my Spanish homework while singing in English along with the radio. Great mental exercise. :duh2:

I was thinking the same thing, most certainly a gift. Ive tried that before, with no avail. :duh2:

My high school geometry teacher could write formulas backwards on the blackboard from right to left while reciting it forward.

Here's the video that mentioned earlier. She's goofing off and singing weird, though her voice isn't much better than in the video. We need to work on that. She goofs up after a few seconds because she knew she was being video taped.

I am just curious - do her parents know that you posted a video of her on the internet ? Some people (me) are really sensitive about that sort of thing.

Yes, she's my daughter. I would not post any picture or video of anyone else's child, not even my nieces or nephews even with permission. I don't think you get a good shot of her face in this video anyway.
