I've been putting together some GU10 and e27 bulbs and I really like the result. Right now I'm only using a IKEA "tross" with 3 GU10 sockets, but I'm going buy a fixture with 5 sockets in order to get more light. I'm very pleased with the "daylight" tint. Easy for the eyes compared to halogen.
The LEds are all R2s from DX, WG tint.

I also bought a "tertial" desk lamp on IKEA w/ a xr-e R2 in a e27 LED "bulb". I really like it and I think the output is OK, although I'm not an ergonomics expert. I might try usinga p7 later for increased output, but I don't think it's necessary. I removed the plastic lens to make the light more floody.

The pictures were taken with a crappy mobile camera. Questions/suggestions are welcome.

Just my opinion, but a big problem I have with these type of lights is it's very, very specular and hence will cause fatigue. Bare LEDs make horrid work-lights, and they'll get on your nerves after awhile because of the harsh shadows. In this respect the Evolux bulbs got it right with the plastic diffuser. Milk jug plastic over the front of the lamp might help a lot.

Right now I'm designing a +1000 lumen down firing desk/floor light, and my biggest hurdle has been trying to figure out how to diffuse the light to make it aethestically pleasing and yet not absorb too much. It's driven me nuts.

Yes, the right tint makes halogen / incan seem terrible in comparison. WG seems a bit high, but it's a personal thing.

Yeah, now that you mention it:thinking:. Thx for the input.
