Hi all,

It seems that me and Mr. Ted Bear's efforts will always come up short of someone who wanted a particular light included in our comparison tests.

So, before we actually do the photo shoot for the Superlight test, I would like to include the following lights, which seem to be one of the brightest in many CPFer's POV.

We already have the 3M CP Vector, and the Banana Vector. We also have a 1M CP Brinkmann.
I would like to include the following as well:

1) LSI 2M CP spot light (RC-3800)
Some say this is the best spotlight out there.

2) Optronics 2M CP Spotlight. No 1.5M or 1M CP lights, please. Only the top-of-the-line Optronics 2M CP Spotlights with the new 100W bulb shown on their website.
Nightblaster QR-2000 series, or the QR-205 series. Both are identical in performance, just a different color body. If you don't have the rechargable models, you can even send me the non-rechargable QH-2000 or QH-205 series.
Some claim that these can beat the LSI lights.

ANYWAY, IF ANY OF YOU OWN ANY OF THESE LIGHTS, PLEASE POST OR E-MAIL ME SO THAT THEY CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE SUPERLIGHT TEST, AND WE WILL SEE HOW THEY FARE AGAINST EACH OTHER ONCE AND FOR ALL.

I promise I will return them to you in mint condition. Honest.

Just be sure to send me the charger as well, so that they can be compared at their full capacity.

Please reply soon, as the testing will be underway soon.

Thanks all!

Ken, I think you will be sorely dissapointed with the optronics 2mil. spot. I had one and it wasn't
much brighter than my US. Maybe I just had a funky one or something.

I have both the optronics 2 million spotlight and an Ultra-stinger by streamlight. The Ultra-stinger is a nice flashlight but not even close to the optronics in the brightness department. But then the Optronics won't fit in your pocket.
Dave

I wrote a LOT of stuff about the Optronics 2 mil CP light.

Bwcaw, there must have been something wrong with your Optronics. the Optronics 2 mil CP is one very very bright Spotlight. Huge beam, no rings or shadows, and will easily light things up 3/4 of a mile away.

Do a search about a "search and rescue" dog that got lost. I was easily able to spot her running toward us, at ½ to 3/4 a mile away.

I was hopeing someone had an LSI 2 mil cp already to lend you guys. Doesn`t seem to be the case.

Ken is their any store near you that carrys the 2mil LSI? Northern keeps them in stock on my end for 69.99
How soon are you guys going to do this comparison? If you don`t come across an LSI from someone before the shootout, let me know and I`ll send you a MO nextday air if you can pick one up. I think that would be faster (and cheaper) than me getting one and sending it by mail/UPS.
Depending on how it fairs against the Vectors, I may sell it cause I already have a 3mil, 1mil, and a 500,000 cp BassPro spotlights.
Eric

Thanks a lot Eric!
I will let you know.

BuddTX or Dave,
Can either of you guys send me your lights so that I can include them in our test?

Thanks again for your help.

What's this?

You guys ask us to compare the RC-3800 and the LSI with the superlights, and then no reply?

Come on guys.....
Help us out.

Otherwise we will never be able to find out once and for all.

BuddTX or Dave?

Can you help us out?

Anyone?

Come on guys.....
Where has all the holiday spirits gone?

Dunno about the rest of you, but I know where *my* holiday spirits will be going..

In this group maybe the SL6 isn't needed? If you want it, you can still have it, but I fear it won't do very much.

That would be better in a shootout with an UltraStinger and a 3" SF turbo head.

Cheers,

Richard

Hey Richard,

Thanks for the offer.
I haven't forgot about the duty light test, when I will be borrowing your SL6. But because of this Superlight test and Thanksgiving, things have been pushed a bit.

It's been pretty crazy for me lately.

I'll visit you soon though.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Richard,
Jeff does have one. You saw it on our Goncz photos.

bwcaw, I don't think you're going blind.

And also, on a sad note, I guess no one is willing to send me his/her light for the comparison. That means this debate on which spotlight is best will never be concluded.....

Does anyone actually HAVE the lights?

Or you guys simply don't want to send them to me for testing?

Anybody?

Eric, I appreciate your offer, and I will try to find a local store where I can get one. If not, I'll let you know.

I have searched in vain to find an Optronics at a retail outlet in the greater North Boston area but no such luck. I just don't want to buy one of these lights without seeing one first. I posted in the Spotlight forum about size comparisons of other spotlights compared to a Versalite 2 million candle power as that is the only one I've seen and nobody responded. The Versalite is too big for me and looks like it pretty much requires a shoulder strap and I don't want a light that big which is why I won't buy one sight unseen.

Anyhow, evidentally the spotlight market is a new experience to many which may be the reason for the lack of responses.

Thanks for offering to do the test. I have a 3mil Vector and a costco Vector with a 100 watt bulb. I know you don't need either, but if you do let me know. Anything else I can do? Actually I guess I haven't done anything but I'm willing to keep doing it. What did I just say?
