Im sure most of you know JetskiMarks famous HyperBlitz. Well hes actually by buddies uncle and so ive been talking to him about his Creation( im so amazed). I cant aford the batteries (only 17 yrs old) but i really want to have a bright light. So i bought the 240 blitz and so far havent done anything with it. Well one day me and my neighbor were shining lights outside, because we were bored and he came up with the idea of using the AC (nothing New) but using an adaptor. He told me hes seen variable output adapters.
Have any of you seen or heard of these?
If so it is possible to use bulbs up to 110 volts right ( that could be really bright)?
I know it defeats the purpuse of plugging a light in, but i dont care, it sounds interesting and afordable.

Is this a good idea, i want to hear wat you have to say, any suggestions?

Re: Different blitz

I bought the Blitz about 2 months ago with the intention of modding it to HID but have not got around to it. I happen to have a 130 Watt Thor Cyclops. I was thinking of taking the bulb out and putting it in the Blitz. You may be able to find a 130 Watt, "plug & Play" bulb on-line fairly cheap. You'd need to find an AC to DC adapter capable of an output of at least 11 Amps @ 12 Volts DC. Good luck and have fun!

Why arent more people responding to this. I understand that plugging a light into an outlet defiets the purpose but at 17 years old i cant afford batteries.

EDIT: what is your price range? Would you be willing to spend $40 on another light with a 12V DC socket to run your Blitz?

my price range is around 150$ Jetskimark told me a good allaround bulb is the 64663.

I was thinking maybe you could consider getting this rechargeable light as it would most likely be brighter with more throw than your Blitz (I have the one I posted a link to) and you could use it to power your Blitz because it has a 12 volt DC cigarette lighter socket. Your Blitz could run for around 30 minutes off of it.

If the bulb you are referring to is the 400 watt Osram you would definitely need an AC power supply to run it.

I just wanted to explain what that light in my link was. It is called the "Professional's Favorite 17.5 million candlepower spotlight". It has a 120 watt H4 Halogen bulb and a giant 9" reflector.

It is really an amazing light, its beam is like a white laser and puts a small super bright spot on trees 1/2 a mile away. Actually I'm pretty sure it can illuminate objects up to one mile away as I have illuminated objects with it that appeared to be well over 1/2 a mile in the distance. It is rechargeable with a 12V 7ah lead acid battery and runs for at least 15 minutes at full brightness, and then maybe another 30 minutes of use. Its hotspot is so bright it hurts to look at on the ceiling and takes like 20 seconds for my eyes to adjust.

The reason why I posted this is because you said you wanted a really bright light, and this would likely be brighter with more throw than the SL240 Blitz, be a solution for running your Blitz, and is only $40.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.:)
