Hi Gang,
Don't follow much outside the machining form these days, so...

Right now, my main EDC flashlight is a HDS EDC60 - yep, back when 60 lumens was all they could do. I like the light, rarely have the need for the "turbo" mode that puts out the 60 lumens. The ONLY issue is color. I'm doing more and more stuff where having a nice, high CRI warm white LED would be nice - my H51w headlamp is fine (I think that's the model anyway)

Can anyone recommend an either 1x CR123 or 1x AA light for pocket use?

If you already like your H51w, why not go for a SC51c? That's Zebralight's high CRI AA flashlight.

Yes, the SC51c is pretty similar to the H51w/SC51w in color rendering, but with a bit more red, orange, and cyan output, which gives it its higher CRI. It's still a neutral white flashlight, however, while warm white flashlights will emphasize reds and oranges even more over other colors, relatively speaking (similar to incandescent flashlights)--go with whichever description would most likely make you the happiest.

These are warm white flashlights, by the way.
