Polarion P2 in Action

It's not very good footage of what actually happened, but you can see a bit of it.

Phoenix SWAT is going with the Polarion P2's for some of it's operational requirements.
One of the officer's leading the charge on this bought a P2 a while ago to get the ball rolling.

Anyway here is what he just sent me (posted by permission):

"We used the P2 on a undocumented santa two weeks trying to burn down a condo and was chucking roof tiles at fire personnel. We ended up tasing him off the roof. It's on Taser website still I think. I get there a see him throwing countless roof tiles at PD and Fire. He was just picking out people to hit. I retrieve P2 and instruct an officer on scene to following him around with the beam.

Results? Higher than a kite and he still wanted nothing to do with the light in his face. He retreated to another part of the roof and the roof tile launching stopped. AMAZING!"

I like the story because this clown got the kitchen sink handed to him. First gets blasted with the P2, then hosed with a 4" jet of water, gets shot with rubber bullets, then tazed, then he falls off the 2nd story roof only to get chased down an snapped by a German Shepard....:hahaha: LOL..LOL..LOL. I doubt the police were very gentle with him after all of that either. What a moron...lol, :laughing:

I was on the phone last nite with one of the SWAT officers involved that originally told me about this story.
Little more detail.

He arrives on scene, roof is on fire, guy on the roof throwing tiles on anybody in range. He gets out of his vehicle, directs a patrol officer on scene to taken the Polarion P2 that was in his vehicle and shine the light directly into the individuals eyes and follow him around the building wherever he goes....

Tile throwing stops immediately, SWAT moves in and up onto the roof and the rubber bullets, taser, fall to ground, get bit by the dog, get handcuffed and off to jail games begin...:duh2:

It think the water/light shot is from the helicopter spot light, but the shot of the light is his face is from the handheld P2.
If you watch the video carefully, you can tell which is which and what light is on him at the time.

Toward the end of the video you can clearly see the light coming in from the side. If you have ever looked into a 35-watt HID at relatively close range, all you are going to see is a bright white star and not much to either side. It seriously degrades your situational awareness, which is good thing for those having to close the gap with dangerous individuals.

On the side, if anybody can capture this Flash video and send it to me that would be awesome....I cannot capture with the software I have.
