Polishing McLuxIII PD

forgive me if this has been asked before.

I see these McLuxIII PD's for sale with a Black coating, is it possible to remove this coating and polish the metal underneith? i assume its aluminum?

conor, I would suggest not doing that. Yes, it's aluminum. The black coating is a hard anodized treatment intended to protect the light. If you need a bare PD, one can be found. Just ask in the BST Forums by posting a WTB: Bare AL McLux PD.
 
Hey Conor....

To answer your question directly, yes it is possible.

Modamag is offering a service that will strip the HA-III and polish the light and you can add your choice of new coating. See here.

Thanks guys for the help! I really appreciate it, I love the look of these lights, but can't afford a Ti Version. =)
