It doesn't matter how many batteries or what kind of batteries are being used.
The Turbo X uses a buck driver and it's regulated.
They are all going to be around 500 lumens on the highest setting.

I use one AW 17670 in mine most of the time (has more capacity than two RCR123's.) I have used it on a single 14500 in my single AA body. I also ran it on two 14500 batteries in my AA2 body, and even ran it on a single RCR123 in my quark 123 body. I like it alright in my 18650 body using a single 18650 (little on the large size though,) but I think it is best with its original 2x123 body with the single AW 17670 Li-ion rechargeable.

I love that these quarks are so lego-able with each other so long as you know the safe battery configurations.

I have a cool white and a neutral 123x2 X. The cool white I run a 17670 in it without any issues. The neutral one flickers and dims in and out when I run a 17670 in it. I called 4Sevens about it and they said "We recommend the use of two cr123a or two rcr123a (rechargeable) in this light. 17670 cells are not supported". I was not happy about that as the other one works fine and I do not like burning through primaries. So now the light is out of my daily use rotation.

I got and sold the X. Like the XPG 123x2 Turbo a little better for its size and tint. But either way I run an AW 17670 in it, had to remove the sticker on the battery to get it to fit though.

two primaries by Titanium Innovations because I have a decent number of them on-hand. :)

I need to try a 17670 though. it'll be the same brightness, right?

17670 all the way. I get great runtime on turbo - not fully regulated the whole time but the light also doesn't suddenly die so to speak so I have warning that it's getting low and enough time to change cells.

I don't care what anybody says about regulation; come into the Australian bush (or anywhere really) at night and see how fun it is to get a surprise when you're just about to climb down some sketchy rocky/rooty trail!!

I guess most prefer the 17670. Do you get more runtime with a 17670 or 2x16340?

Do you guys also notice that the turbo is not regulated when using 17670's?

For my Quark Turbo X and my three Quark X 123² I use the no name RCR123A batteries coming with the Since charger model SE-H001.

I am using these batteries and charger for nearly one year now with great satisfaction. I have four of them (4 chargers) with a total of 16 batteries.

In case of electric failure and not being able to charge my RCR123A I will use my spare batteries which are 4Sevens primary.
