Portable band saw - HF

I just picked up one of these little portable band saws on sale from HF. Regular price is $89.xx, Sale price $74.99 Plus I had an additional 20% discount coupon from an email. Came out to $59.99 plus tax.

I cut a couple 1/2 inch cold rolled today and it is so much easier than the Armstrong saw!

Quality looks a bit on the light weight side but for as much as I hacksaw stuff it should be okay for quite some time.

Gadget lover has one of these for quite a while and seems to like it, thought I would let you know they are on sale!

That's a great price. Even better than what I paid!

I'm very happy with mine. It's not seen much use recently, since I picked up a 4x6 vertical/horizontal model. It's a heck of an improvement over using a manual saw, angle grinder or (shudder) table saw.

Between the two, the portable's been very trouble free. The only problem was to adjust the angle of the support plate to align it with the blade.

The 4x6, on the other hand, took days to adjust it well enough that the band did not dislodge while cutting. Further adjustments got it to the point where I get a cut close to 90 degrees in both planes.
