Possible to change the LED's in an A2?

Ok i just bought a SF A2 with red led's. I dont really want or need red but i got a good deal on the light so i bought it. Is there anyway to change those to the white led's? Thanks.

How good are you with a soldering iron?



I changed out the stock blue LED's in mine with some Cree cool white 15 degree 5mm's. The beam was great, not quite as bright as some other white LED swaps that i've seen but it wasn't purple like those either. Just a nice smooth white beam.

Here is both the LED's and the stock incan on, same camera settings so you get an idea...

I'm changing them out again for some nice UV led's as soon as they arrive.


Just know that you are voiding the warranty by modifying it...

It is possible to buy whole circuit board with LED of your choice and replace the stock version easily. See this thread about Onion Ring:

I am not sure about the current production status of this item but there is a lot of people interested in getting the onion ring so there is a chance it eventually will be available.
