Hi, please post your ideas for the MC-E mods! I have seen 2-3 mods but i guess there are more, has anyone achieved a good throw with that led? Most of mods till now seen here had good sidespill but not that good throw...

For better throw you'll need a larger reflector.

Since the MC-E has 4x the emitting surface of the Cree XR-E, it'll need a larger reflector to achieve the same beam pattern.

I have yet to see a multi die LED mod in an "X million" candlepower light. The larger reflector should give a good amount of throw, or at least a pretty narrow beampattern.

Th bulb sits too high in those reflectors. You'd want a reflector with the FP sitting further to the back--a larger section of the parabolic curve, if you will.

I am thinking of swapping the Q5 in my UF C2 with a MC-E and was thinking of the compatibility with the reflector. The driver will of course be swapped, but I was hoping to keep the same reflector. I will however wait for better availability of the M-bin emitters before I do this.

Any comments on the compatibility of the reflector?

The third picture in this post is an MC-E. It is being run at a very low level for an MC-E(somewhere around 390mA per die) and is a warm white so considering that I would say its a pretty impressive result. In the next iteration I will try an M bin MC-E at about 1A per die and an additional optic that I have used to up the throw by about 30%. Should be darn throwy.
