My day has gotten off to a great start. The electricity went out early this morning, which gave me a great excuse to use a couple of my LED lights to get ready for work. I used my Photon Fusion, and my newly acquired Eternalight Elite X-ray. I use to curse the frequent power outages we have, but now they are a welcome diversion.

Of course this really made me realize just how much I need to acquire or build some kind of LS based light!!!

An LS is EXCELLENT for a power outage. It gives off a pretty smooth even beam, and will light up a room well if you shine it at the ceiling. Plus, like other LEDs, it will continue to give off useful light after an incandescent wouldn't.

Also, they will run with a faint glow for days on, say, just 2 AA batteries.

I've started using LED torches as bedside lanterns, shining them up pon the cieling as uplighters. It's surprising how bright the light is from a single Nichia green LED... the reflected light is enough to read by!
With its 4AAA supply, the torch seems to go for ever!
