I have the 3c/2d 1 ohm Ls mod. It had about 20 mins of intermitent run time unti last night.

We finally had a good ol' fashioned thunder storm that made everything really dark. After the lightning stopped, I took my Blaster and a dog we are sitting for out for a stroll.

Holy cow! This light reached in the same beam pattern as a Surge, although not as brightly. It illuminated out to 75 ft. brightly and to 125 ft easily, 150 ft was "seeeable". When aimed at the ground in front of me, the hot spot was broad, white and washed out the color of the grass for about 10 ft. Water from trees and the occasional spritz from the sky didn't affect anything to the worse.

In comparison, my Opalec mod only lit up doggie and a bit of the terrain in front of me.

The Blaster really is bright, a perfect outdoor light. Its capabilities aren't fully utilized indoors...although it is still capable! The opalec is still a great go to light for personal use/navigation/ map reading in the car.

I know Wayne is doing his own mgfring now, but I gotta give credit when it is due.

I can't even imagine multiple LS's or the 5 watter.

I wonder how the 7 led Trek would look, hmmm.

He Geoff,

Glad you like it. The 7 LED Trek would even begin to come close.

Can't wait to get hold of the 5 watt Luxeon Star's !

On my own 'Blaster', soon to come, I worked out the details of the switch assembly, and the lens assembly, today with the engineer and machinest. I might have about 25 early prototypes to sell. When I do I'll make a post about it.
