While replacing my mailbox that someone ran over during my neighbors Christmas party last week, I found my missing old pre-lawsuit Brinkman 2AA that I spoke of in an earlier thread.
I posted some pics of the the pre-lawsuit Brinkmann 2AA, the Sears 2AA, and the Mini-#ag 2AA side by side. As you can see they are nearly identical. The Brinkmann has a slightly different tailcap and lanyard attachment. The Sears clone is more robust and uses a screw in bulb instead of a bi-pin one. All three have a candle mode. The Sears clone has lived in my toolbox for a long time, since the 80's, and gotten hard use, and although the finish is wearing off, it still works fine and is my favorite of them all. I bought it for around $6 back when mini-#ags were around $15 alone without the nylon holsters and accessories.
Now you can get a mini-#ag at Walmart for 8 bucks with holster and a 2 pack of extra bulbs. I just returned that old one with the frozen tailcap I spoke of in an earlier thread and they gave me a new one with holster and extra bulbs - no hassle at all - kudos to Walmart. I now have a nice shiny new pewter colored model all ready for my first LED drop in mod. I don't know which one to put in it though, any suggestions? I want a bright flood type beam with long battery life.
Here are some pics of the pre-lawsuit days clones.I don't know how to put the pics in the post itself...can anyone tell me how to do that? (edit: thanks B@rt!)I don't have a digital camera here, so these were taken with a webcam, hence the lack of resolution.
The pics are bigger at this link, I'm new at posting pics on CPF, I don't know why they are so small.
